Position Summary:

Responsible for coordinating a wide range of human resources functions under the supervision of the Human Resources Director.  Acts as a resource for all CCI employees for issues regarding employee relations, recruiting, benefits, training and compensation.

Key Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Assumes responsibility for effectively completing assigned human resource functions.
  • Assists in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring CCI personnel.  Assists with screening resumes and applicants; arranges interviews with hiring managers; verifies previous employment; conducts reference check; arranges for background check.  Ensures all hiring processes are effective and legally compliant.
  • Prepares new hire folders, conducts new employee orientations, enters information in HRIS system, and verifies that all signed documents are in personnel files.
  • Assists in updating job descriptions.  Receives and reviews job descriptions from department managers.  Ensures information is complete and current.
  • Maintains HR files in accordance with federal and state requirements and CCI policies and practices.
  • Assists in conducting audits (training records, performance reviews, onboarding, background checks, job descriptions, immunization records
  • Initiates the employee termination process with final document preparation, system updating and communication with all necessary divisions
  • Attends and participates in unemployment hearings
  • Maintains employee records and online systems for  training (ex. CPR, OSHA, safety, and other mandatory training), certification and licensure
  • Plans employee wellness activities  
  • Provides supervisory staff with evaluation reminders; provides guidance to managers in matters related to HR policies and procedures
  • Coordinates employee benefit information and open enrollment
  • Updates employee handbook as directed
  • Prepares annual EEO report; Workmen's Comp audit
  • Serves on committees and teams as needed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS preferred
  • 2 years HR experience (ADP HRB preferred)
  • Knowledge of human resource related acts, agencies, and employment law; exposure to all major human resources disciplines with particular strength in employment and employee relations
  • Demonstrated skill handling issues involving high levels of sensitivity and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated good judgment
  • Ability to persuade and influence, establish personal credibility and trust, and foster collaborative working relationships
  • Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
